The Faces

As an artist, I find myself drawn to the art of portraiture, particularly since I moved abroad. Living in a foreign country can be a lonely experience, and painting human faces has become a way for me to connect with my own feelings of longing and homesickness.

I love observing people and drawing their afterimage from memory and imagination. It's a process that repeats itself in most of my work, and it's a way for me to capture the essence of humanity through the unique expressions and personalities of individual faces.

Feminine beauty and fragility fascinate me, and that's why most of my portraits depict women. Their sad, big eyes often seem to be asking for attention and understanding, and through my art, I'm able to offer them just that. In many ways, my portraits are a manifestation of my own feelings, a way to process my own emotions and experiences through the art of painting.

Creating each portrait is a deeply personal experience for me, and I strive to capture the essence of each subject in a way that is both authentic and empathetic. Through my art, I hope to connect with others and create a sense of understanding and connection that transcends borders and boundaries.
